and I'm always ready for a little Christmas.

I'm Emily,

I'm an artist, designer, and Christmas enthusiast with a soft spot for colorful living.

Christmas blogger

I was made merry; I’ve always loved Christmas. In kindergarten we were asked, “What do I do best?” and draw a corresponding picture. My response was, “I’m good at putting the gold balls on the Christmas tree.” It’s good to know your talents at a young age.

Now, thirty years from that kindergarten worksheet, I still love the same thing. I’ve been hired by interior designers to decorate clients’ homes for Christmas, had holiday designs and photoshoots published in magazines, and even produced art for Christmas cards. I create for Christmas year round.

There is one thing, however, that I’d change about my kindergarten response: those little gold balls. I love a Christmas tradition, but I believe that the magic of Christmas (particularly in décor) comes from making things personal and original. Red and green make a fabulous holiday palette for your home, but so does pink and yellow. A tree doesn’t need to drip in ornaments to be a showstopper; sometimes one well-placed treasure can be all that’s needed.

That’s the driving force behind Merrie- celebrating unique ways to make holiday magic.

Why Create A Christmas Blog? Do You Have Christmas Up In Your House All Year Long?

I decided to be a Christmas blogger because decorating for Christmas is something I can't not do - if that makes any sense. I percolate on holiday decor all year, so I decided to share it with other Christmas lovers.

I don't keep Christmas up in my whole house all year long, but my office is another story. It's completely normal for me to have a revolving forest of Christmas trees in my office.

Decorating on the daily so you can have a little bit of Christmas whenever you want it!
