After several years of creating Christmas décor and designs for events and interior designers, I started this Christmas blog to create all of the wilder holiday designs I dream of.
I bought these bells for our wedding reception decor about ten years ago. After I used them for the wedding, I lovingly wrapped them up for future uses. And, they have gotten a ton of use as decor for bridal showers and Christmas. This year, they were the main feature on my snowy bell Christmas tree design.
Christmas At Thanksgiving Is Fine
I know this is a hot take. But here’s the thing, with the sheer amount of Christmas decor and trees I set up, I cannot wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate. I have to get a start on it earlier, and I am completely fine with that.
Now, we do host Thanksgiving for our extended family and local friends who can’t make it home for the holiday. Because of that I always feel like I kind of need to toe the line with the decor in the dining room. The kitchen is always decor-free at Thanksgiving because there’s too much going on with everyone cooking. Sometimes, I leave the dining room Christmas-free as well until after Thanksgiving.
This year though, I decided to go with a woodsy, autumn palette tree- aiming to be the most Thanksgiving of Christmas trees. Now that I type it out it sounds a little wild, but it also still makes sense in my head. Thus, the Thanksgiving Christmas tree was decorated.
My Snowy Wicker Bell Christmas Tree
I’m on a real flocked tree kick, and have been for the last few years. I just love the little bit of extra texture the faux snow gives. So, the third flocked tree went up in my house, this time in the dining room.
To keep that autumn-y Thanksgiving feel, I added deep mustard colored velvet bows. Beyond green (tree), white (flocking), and brown (wicker), that was the only color added to the tree. A nice subtle fall-meets-winter palette.
I added some great woodsy and piney picks I grabbed from Decorator’s Warehouse. Then, I made my own picks of leaves cut from book pages and glued to thin floral wire. Our dining room is full of book shelves, and I had a book page accent on my other tree in there so this was a way of keeping the room feeling cohesive.
Finally, came my wicker bells. Instead of hanging them on one by one, I wired them together in sets of two. In pairs they packed a bigger visual punch and added some lovely angles instead of hanging straight down.
Such a simple, pretty tree in a nice, fall palette. I adds some Christmas magic to the room without going full Christmas energy. My snowy wicker bell Christmas tree really is the most Thanksgiving Christmas tree.
